MCP for assistants

Free

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol, and ask about rugby in plain words. Every endpoint is a tool the assistant can call with your key: the same plan, the same daily allowance, the same data.

Connect

Add a remote MCP server with the address above, over HTTP, and send your key as Authorization: Bearer. No session to keep: each call stands on its own.

What it can do

42 tools, one for each endpoint: matches, lineups, timelines, tables, teams, players, stats, search and national-side rankings.

What it counts

Each tool call is one lookup, as in the API. A free key's limits apply to the assistant too; Archive opens every season.

Client settings

For a client that reads an mcpServers file (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and others):

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "rugbyapi": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://api.rugbyapi.com/mcp",
            "headers": {
                "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY"
            }
        }
    }
}

Try asking: "Who leads the Top 14 this season?", "Show the scoring timeline of the last Leinster v Munster match", "How has Japan's rating moved since 2019?"
